Little Kickers Swim School FAQs

What types of lessons do you provide?

At Little Kickers Swim School, we only teach private and semi-private lessons. All private lessons are one-on-one with an instructor, so that we can best serve the child we are teaching.

Who should take semi-private lessons?

We will teach semi-private lessons, but only recommend them for children that are already swimming the width of the pool, so that the instructor can work with both kids at the same time on stroke development. For younger kids,we highly recommend that they do not do a semi-private lesson, because one of them has to hang out and wait for the other child to practice. Not only do they get cold but we also lose their attention.

What length of lesson do you recommend and how frequently?

For kids 1 year of age and up we recommend a 30 minute lesson. It’s the perfect amount of time for learning and having fun, before children start losing interest and getting cold. For the younger ones, 6 months to 1 year of age, we recommend 15 or 20 minute lessons.

What if I have more than 1 child?

For families looking to sign up multiple children, we often recommend to either sign up for a 45 minute block and split the time between the two kids, or if the schedule allows, we can try and get them in the water at the same time for an overlap lesson with two different instructors. The majority of our kids come in for lessons once a week, but the more practice, the more progress! Many also come in twice a week if their schedule allows.

Do parents get in the pool?

No. Because it’s all one-on-one instruction, we like to be able to develop a relationship directly between the instructor and the child.

Can I watch the lessons?

Yes, there are several tables and chairs by the pool and we would love for you to watch lessons.

How do I get signed up?

If you would like to get signed up for recurring lessons, please email us and let us know your availability., and we can try and find a regular day and time every week. If you would like to schedule drop-in lessons, please either email us or use the client portal (link can be found in the footer section of the website).

Do you have a registration fee?

Yes, we have a lifetime registration fee of $45.

Is there a deposit?

For families signing up for a recurring spot, we do require the payment of one lesson up front. If you finish out the session, we will comp the last lesson.

How do you bill?

We bill weekly for lessons, unless you buy a package. We require a credit card on file for all families taking lessons. All receipts are available in your account in the online portal.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel a lesson. If you sign up for recurring lessons, we allow several free cancellations per session (still with 24 hours’ notice). The number depends on how many weeks are in the session.

Do you have regular maintenance and cleaning?

Little Kickers rents a swimming pool, so there will be rare times during the year when the pool will be closed and lessons postponed, for both scheduled and unscheduled cleaning and maintenance. And similarly, if an incident requires immediate evacuation and cleaning of the pool, such as a child vomiting or pooping in the pool, it's possible that lessons could be postponed or cancelled. These incidents are, of course, infrequent, but also totally out of our control. We will do our best to reschedule lessons in these situations.

What do we need to bring with us for lessons?

There are locker rooms and showers at the pool, where kids can get changed/showered. All they need is a swimsuit and a towel, and you'll be set! We have goggles, toys, etc. at the pool.
